The Inver Grove Heights Police Department uses the Dakota County curfew ordinance. The county curfew ordinance prohibits juveniles from being in a public place or establishment during certain nighttime hours.

A public place is any place that the public or a substantial portion of the public has access to. This includes street, highways, parks, schools, etc. An establishment is a privately-owned place of business to which the public is invited. Examples of establishments are movie theaters, restaurants, and bowling alleys.
