VMCC 20th Anniversary - February

20 days of fun to celebrate 20 years of the VMCC!

Princess Dance in a Box - pick-up begins on March 4 | Ages 4-12

An enchanted evening awaits all young royalty and their special guest at home! This box will bring our popular Princess Dance event to the comfort and safety of your own home. 

Register for an event box and pick it up beginning March 4 at the at the Veteran's Memorial Community Center- Guest Services Desk. Once you have your box, you can pick an evening that is convenient for you to dive in and celebrate together. Don’t worry about a thing, we will walk you through every step of the way.

The event box will include:

  • An official invitation to give to your child
  • Table settings for two
  • Official royal crown
  • List of music suggestions
  • Craft project
  • Dinner recipe(s)
  • Special dessert
  • Link for a (pre-recorded) VIRTUAL visit with Miss Minnesota 2020! She will give your young royalty a special message, a mini fashion show of her royal closet, and a SING-A-LONG!

You will also receive an email to contact a Recreation Coordinator with ANY question you may have as you plan your special night (i.e. tips & tricks, decorating ideas, additional ways to make your young royal feel special!) We would love to help!

**NEW** Snowshoeing: March 13 | Ages 5+

Explore the woods and valleys of Inver Grove Heights with your family on a guided snowshoe hike with a Dakota County Naturalist. All snowshoe equipment is provided. This program is in partnership with Dakota County.

How to Draw & Paint a Unicorn | Saturday, Feb. 27 | 9:30-11:30 a.m. | Ages 5-12

Let your artist go unicorn-crazy! In this KidCreate Studio Art Workshop, students will learn a simple step-by-step process to draw and paint a unicorn. Perfect for your unicorn enthusiast!

Kids Sports Night: April 9 – Two Sessions: 5:30 p.m. OR 6:30 p.m. | Ages 4-12

The theme is "All Sports" and everyone is encouraged to dress to show support for their favorite team, player or sport. This fun-filled night includes a boxed dinner, sport skill activities and obstacle courses, dancing, photo prop area, and a chance to win some prizes! All games and activities will use safety precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (social distancing, items sanitized after each use and/or hands free).

Location: VMCC, West Arena Turf
$28 parent/child pair; $12 for additional child.
