IGH Parks & Rec offers seniors many opportunities to stay active and and engaged at the Veterans Memorial Community Center and find a sense of community and friendship in the IGH Senior Club. Senior Center programming is provided in partnership with the ISD 199 Community Education Department.

UCare Member Discounts
UCare for Seniors members and EssentialCare members are eligible for one $15 discount per calendar year on most community education/recreation programs including trips! Members simply show their UCare ID card when registering for the trip/class to receive the discount. Members must be enrolled with UCare at the time of the trip/class to receive the discount. UCare Choices and Fairview Choices members are not eligible for the $15 class discount. Other restrictions may apply.
Driver's Ed Refresher Courses
The Driver Improvement courses are open to the public; pre-registration is required. A MN Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor teaches this class. Those who complete the course qualify for a 10% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law. First time participants must complete the initial eight hours of training and a four hour refresher class every three years to maintain the discount.

Happy Feet Foot Services - SECOND Friday AND FOURTH Tuesday of the Month
Relax and enjoy a half hour of pampering on the second Friday and fourth Tuesday of the month! A nurse will provide a foot soak, nail trim, foot massage and foot treatment.

Indoor Walking Program
During the ISD 199 School Year 2022-23: Mon-Fri: 2:30-5:30 p.m.; Sat-Sun: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Our indoor walking/running track is available to all members and daily admission users (18+). Athletic shoes required. We allow strollers and small children in carriers as well as those with wheelchairs to use the track at anytime. The track is 1/16 of a mile long and circles the fitness center. Personal Posture Analysis
This 60 minute session will assess your muscle strength and flexibility, balance, movement patterns and posture to identify muscle imbalances, joint dysfunction and instability. Our posture alignment specialist can use these results to create a unique program designed to correct your imbalances, improve your muscle function and restore balance so you can live your best pain free life! (Programming not included in the assessment cost, customer must purchase additional training sessions.)

The IGH Senior Club is a place for camaraderie, socializing and entertainment, while participating in interactive and exciting activities, including monthly luncheons, weekly card games, a holiday party and more! Activities are held at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in the Senior Center (Community Room 2). The club is managed by a Board and in partnership with IGH Parks & Rec. Senior Club Board Officers meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m.

2023 Membership: $15/person - Your membership dues support the club and its work.
Note: All senior club payments for new membership and monthly luncheons are paid directly to the Senior Club. A locked drop box is by the Parks & Rec office, near the east ice arena (VMCC north entry, door E). Registration forms and envelopes are available at this drop box.

Weekly Card Games
Every week the Senior Center hosts several card games. All card playing events are FREE for both members & non-members--including refreshments! No registration required, just make sure to be on time!
Spring & Summer 2023 Schedule:
- 500 - first, second and fourth Monday - 1 p.m.
- Cribbage - Tuesdays - 1 p.m.
- Hand & Foot - Wednesdays - 9 a.m.
- Bridge - Wednesdays - 12:30 p.m.
- Euchre - Thursdays - 1 p.m.
Monthly Luncheons - Members ONLY!
Senior Club members enjoy the benefit of a monthly luncheon on the third Monday of the month from noon to 2 p.m. These luncheons bring together members in a fun, social gathering with entertainment and food. Registration is required by the Thursday before the luncheon. Register at the new locked drop box (see note above).
