IGH Parks & Rec offers seniors many opportunities to stay active and and engaged at the Veterans Memorial Community Center and find a sense of community and friendship in the IGH Senior Club.

Winter/Spring

55+ Driver Safety Class – (ages 55+) Certified instructor teaches this class. Those who complete the class qualify for a 10% discount on auto insurance. The Driver Improvement courses are open to the public and held at the VMCC; Pre-registration is required through the MN Highway Safety & Research Center

Parks & Amenities

History Book Club

Meets every fourth Monday of the month at the VMCC from 10-11 a.m. Discuss selected books with this free, drop-in group, no registration is required. For more information, view 'The Scoop' section of the current Parks & Recreation brochure

Note: Winter leagues will return once play is safe and we feel confident operating in accordance with state guidelines. At this time the regularly scheduled Winter 2021 volleyball leagues are cancelled.

  • Adult Softball- Three divisions. Officiated league; Standings recorded with an end-of-season playoff. Registration information for summer softball leagues will be available beginning February 1. 
    • Every 2020 team is on an email list and will receive a notification.

Call the IGH Weather Hot Line at 651-450-2595 to check the status for city-led program and events due to inclement weather. We strive to update by 4:30 p.m. After hours, it is up to the coaches and instructors to make the final decision.
