The City Clerk is responsible for processing business licenses and permits. The following businesses require a permit/license to operate. Please click the corresponding link to be directed to the online permit portal:

Renewing Your License

  • Renewal application and payment must be made online, by mail, or in person at City Hall before your license will be brought before Council for approval.
  • Please make checks payable to the City of Inver Grove Heights. For details on fees, see our Fee Schedule.
  • Approved license certificates (renewals) are mailed out to license holders after Council approval.

Liquor License Applicants

First-Time Liquor License Applicant

  • Please make an appointment with the City Clerk if you are a first-time applicant, so that we can assist you in the successful completion of your application.
  • City Clerk appointments are available during City Hall business hours, 8-4:30 Monday through Friday. The appointment takes approximately one hour.
  • Email the City Clerk to schedule your appointment.
  • If you stop by City Hall without making an appointment, the City Clerk may not be available to discuss your application.
