MnDOT Project Updates: Hwy 55 Minneapolis to IGH
MnDOT will be improving the ride (smoothness), restoring the pavement and redecking or repairing bridges on Hwy 55 between Minneapolis and IGH. Below are some of the traffic impacts in and around IGH.
Hwy 55 Project Impacts in IGH
Eastbound Hwy 55 to close between Argenta Trail and Hwy 52 in IGH May 16-23
Crews will be installing pipe beneath Hwy 55 between Argenta Trail and Hwy 52 in Inver Grove Heights. This will require a closure of eastbound Hwy 55 beginning at 6 a.m. Mon, May 16. The closure will last for approximately one week.
Hwy 55 is currently closed in both directions between Argenta Trail in IGH and Mendota Road in Mendota Heights until the end of May 2022
Use the signed detour.
- Crossing movements are maintained at the following intersections:
- South junction of Hwy 149/Dodd Rd./Holiday Ln.
- Lone Oak Rd., north junction of Hwy 149/Dodd Rd.
- Blue Gentian Rd./Lexington Ave.
- Mendota Heights Rd.
- South leg of Hwy 13/Hwy 55
From Mon, May 9 through Fri, May 13: Watch for intermittent intersection closures at the following locations: Hwy 55 at Dodd Rd./Hwy 149/Holiday Ln. and Hwy 55 at Lone Oak Rd.
Trail closures
From Tue, May 10 through mid-June, the pedestrian/bike trail on adjacent to the westbound Hwy 55 lanes on the east side of the Mendota Bridge will be closed through mid-June.
