Event Details
The City hosts a free pumpkins collection event every year the weekend after Halloween.
Why Compost?
All pumpkins collected will be brought to the Mulch Store compost facility in Rosemount where they will be turned into compost—a valuable soil additive. Compost improves soil quality, reduces erosion, reduces greenhouse gases, and decreases the need for chemical fertilizers. Questions?
Did you know that you can bring confidential papers to the City's upcoming Clean Up Day event and have them shredded for FREE?

- Location:
City Hall Parking Lot

Have confidential paper that needs to be shredded? Instead of shredding at home, bring your paper to a confidential paper shredding event or a retail location that shreds for you. This will ensure your personal information stays secure and your paper gets recycled.
Event Details
The City of Inver Grove Heights hosts two FREE confidential paper shredding events every Spring and Fall for Inver Grove Heights residents. Stop by to have your confidential paper shredded and recycled by a secure onsite shredding truck. When available, event dates will be posted to this webpage and published via the Insights residential newsletter.
Permanent Shredding Sites
To find local companies that provide shredding services year round, visit the Recycling Guide and search confidential material. Fees vary by business and already shredded paper is not accepted at most locations. Please contact the business to ensure they are currently operating and accepting confidential paper for shredding.
Shredding Paper At Home
If shredding at home, keep this out of your recycling cart. With new technology, shredded paper causes problems at recycling sorting facilities and often does not get recycled. Instead, put your shredded paper in a paper bag and drop off at The Recycling Zone. Please note The Recycling Zone only accepts shredded paper and does not provide shredding services.
