Environmental Advisory Commission

Overview

The Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) is a nine member citizen commission appointed by the City Council to review environmental issues including land alteration permits, Wetland Replacement Applications, landfill issues, to promote public awareness in understanding local environmental issues and other miscellaneous items that the council deems necessary for review. In 2016, the Airport Commission was consolidated with the Environmental Advisory Commission.

Meetings

The Environmental Advisory Commission meets as needed on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Inver Grove Heights City Hall, 8150 Barbara Avenue. The Planning Division reserves the right to cancel a meeting due to lack of agenda items. 

Please note: The next scheduled Economic Advisory Commission meeting for February 9, 2026, has been rescheduled to Monday, February 23, 2026.

Meetings are televised:

LIVE: Fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. – Channel 15/859 HD

Replays: Saturday following the meeting at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. – Channel 18/798 HD

Meetings are also live-streamed on Town Square Television. The public is encouraged to attend and is able to address the commission during any public hearings. This input becomes part of the public record and along with the commission's recommendation, will be used by the City Council to reach a decision.

Members are appointed for three-year terms expiring on May of that year.

Minutes & Agendas

Agendas are generally available the Friday before the scheduled Environmental Advisory Commission meeting, and minutes are generally available after the following month's meeting.
