Yellow Ribbon Campaign

Inver Grove Heights, a Yellow Ribbon City

The mission of the Inver Grove Heights Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign is to provide the community a network of support for military members, veterans and their families before, during and after deployment.

The Minnesota National Guard has pioneered a program which empowers community leaders to synchronize efforts and build an enduring network of support for service members and families throughout the deployment cycle.

A Core Committee meets at 6:00 pm bi-monthly on the first Monday at the Armory end of the Veterans Memorial Community Center. The group plans and reviews upcoming activities to maintain Beyond the Yellow Ribbon designation for the City of Inver Grove Heights.

The committee strives to maintain a volunteer support structure for military members and their families that includes simple acts of kindness, like snow-shoveling, lawn mowing, painting, occasional meals or childcare.

Please email Janet Shefchik or call 651-450-2512, if you would like to volunteer your time or have a group looking for a meaningful way to support your community.
