In December 2021, the city was awarded an AAA credit rating from Standard & Poor's, a global financial services and ratings agency. This is the highest credit rating the city can achieve and a first for IGH!
As a result of this credit rating, the city will get the best possible interest rate when it needs to borrow for city infrastructure and facility projects.
This achievement is due to a number of factors:
Strong economic growth in our community, with per capita incomes and property values increasing
Very strong cash and reserves that allow the city to weather the unexpected
Financial policies and practices, such as our financial management plan, that chart a course for our financial future
Comparatively low debt for a city our size
